PETRONAS SRT announces new electric kick scooter partnership
PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team has announced a new Partnership with leading urban kick scooter manufacturer Velocifero with a concept limited edition Mad Air electric kick scooter showcased at the 2021 DutchGP.
The announcement is the latest from the team as it develops an expansion of its off-track activities into electric two wheel vehicles. Prototype scooters will be used and showcased by the team across the remaining races in 2021.
The concept PSRT Velocifero Mad Air electric kick scooter merges style, performance and practicality in one single package. It boasts a practical folding handlebar design for easy storage and transport, a punchy 350W electric motor and removable 36V 10.4Ah battery pack, novel digital display panel, as well as front motor and electric brakes and rear disk brakes.
Though rich in features, the Mad Air's light 16kg weight makes it a perfect e-mobility solution for anyone to zip around and conquer the urban terrain. This limited edition special fashioned in the signature colours of the PETRONAS SRT racing livery.
Through the roll-out of the prototype scooters at races, the team will be evaluating a limited-edition production run for the future. It's exciting for PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team to announce a new partnership looking at exciting products for the team which potentially could be seen in the marketplace in the near future. We've been working on this project for some time now, so it's great to be able to see the PSRT Velocifero Mad Air in the flesh here in the Netherlands. For the team, we are always looking for commercial opportunities which complement our racing and the MotoGP lifestyle. We think that the Mad Air is an incredible product so it will be interesting to see if there is sufficient interest to make this into a commercial offering.

Velocifero is proud to become the official supplier for PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team, one of the biggest Teams in MotoGP racing.
Velocifero will produce approximately 150,000 Kick Scooters in our factory in 2021 and we are always looking to get into partnership with new brands as we are already an OEM manufacturer for many different big brands in the market.
From this partnership with PSRT we are looking forward to establishing a collaboration to produce a PSRT-branded kick scooter in the near term future.
Beside this, it is exciting to connect ourselves to racing as I have a great passion for the racing business running my own 125 factory team with my father and his Italjet factory in 2000-2002. My father Leopoldo Tartraini was a very successful racer in the 50s winning the famous Italian race Milano Taranto at the time.
