Renault will showcase its Twingo E-Tech electric prototype show car on its stand at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, which will take place from 14 to 20 October. It revealed the car in November 2023 and will present it to the public for the first time at the Motor Show.

Renault revolutionised the automobile world when it introduced Twingo in 1992: its vibrant colours and knack for making everyday life more enjoyable made it a perfect example of what Renault means by "les voitures à vivre".

Twingo E-Tech electric prototype rekindles the original flame, with an all-electric car designed for city driving without compromises.

Twingo E-Tech electric prototype is original, clever, right for today and as unexpected as the original, which burst onto the scene with its minimalistic people-carrier silhouette, mischievous headlamps, remarkable agility and joyful vibe.

Twingo E-Tech electric prototype's small footprint keep it agile in cities and its five doors make it eminently practical. Its monovolume silhouette includes a fixed glass roof to fill the generously sized interior with light, and epitomises Renault's philosophy of the "voitures à vivre".

A series of details inspired by the first Twingo heighten this prototype's character, and enhance its modern proportions and liquid-like surfaces.

The up-to-the-minute upgrades across its surface and the original details including the headlamps (which are now inside floating LED rings) combine techy and fetching looks.

Cheerful signature lights on the updated tail

The rear design calls to mind the original Twingo's emblematic tail, and the black rim around the rear windshield adds a modern touch. The protruding taillights, which are the same shape as the headlamps, give the car a high-tech feel. The Twingo lettering at the centre of the tailgate adds cheer.
Expressive and endearing traits
Twingo E-Tech electric prototype is more than a vehicle: it also has an unmistakeable face. Its expressive and endearing look comes from the headlamps and the lines of its front end, topped by the brand emblem. Something about it makes you think of an air of complicity and familiarity.

Rounded, beaming and likeable
The headlamps, directly inspired by the first generation, are another aspect of Twingo E-Tech electric prototype's fetching character in a class by itself. They jut out of the body and give it an original, modern, high-tech feel.

A glass roof and light-filled interior
Twingo E-Tech electric prototype has an ample glass roof to fill the passenger compartment with daylight and open it up to the outdoors.

The emblematic round handles rebooted
The memorable handles across the two doors on either side come straight from the 1992 model - and now have a round rim that lights up.

Visual details
The three small openings on the bonnet aren't there to let air into the motor (this future all-electric city car doesn't need them): they are a tribute to the car's legacy.

The Twingo E-Tech electric prototype show car is the next chapter in a story that began more than 30 years ago, and prefigures the fourth-generation production Twingo, which will be available in 2026. Developed by Ampere with the aim of offering an entry price of less than €20,000, fulfilling Renault's pledge to put electric mobility within ever more people's reach - as it is doing with the other models in its electric line-up: Renault 5 E-Tech electric, Renault 4 E-Tech electric, Megane E-tech electric and Scenic E-Tech electric.
