The McLaren 720S GT3 is the newest race car from Mclaren that will replace the 650S GT3, which gives us a good clue as to what to expect; a road-going McLaren supercar with all the usual race car flourishes but a road-based engine.

The car will use the MonoCage II carbon fiber monocoque that makes them so unique. Specialized aero bits and suspension components will further set it apart from a normal 720S. McLaren will race-prep the 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 found in the road-going car and mate it with a six-speed, sequential shift racing transmission.

The sketches reveal a splitter that could plough snow and some little dive planes at the front, while round the back there’s an enormous diffuser, a different exhaust setup and a humongous fixed spoiler rather than an active wing.
