A fresh set of renderings, courtesy of Jennings, asks the question “what if” in the automotive design by mashing some of the most attractive cars today with their classic predecessors. “We’ve married old and new to create some truly unique cars,” the creators describe their fantastic project.

Dodge Charger

The modern Dodge Charger is definitely a nice looking sedan, but it no longer gives us classic muscle vibes in terms of design. This rendering brings back some of its muscle glory, adding elements from the 1968 Dodge Charger R/T. Yes, you might say the rear wing is a bit too much, but the classic wheels with chrome hubcaps are definitely a great idea.

Bugatti Chiron

Meet the faster and most powerful Volkswagen Beetle in history. It’s built upon the chassis of the mighty Bugatti Chiron and features its monstrous 8.0-liter quad-turbo engine with 1,500 horsepower. This car is actually more exclusive than the original Chiron, as the hypercar will be produced in 500 examples. On the other hand, the superfast Beetle from the attached image is the only one in the world.

Audi R8

The last mashup from Jennings is actually the most impressive, as it gives the Audi R8 supercar a rally look. The all-wheel-drive vehicle is gaining white multi-spoke wheels from the classic Quattro from the 80s and a fascia inspired by the Audi 100 from the same era. The shape of the radiator grille, however, is influenced by the R8, despite its retro look.

Mercedes-AMG GT

This beautiful mashup combines two great sports cars from Mercedes-Benz. The rendering is based on the modern-day Mercedes-AMG GT, modified with different design elements from the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing launched in 1954. We have to say the headlights of the GT look good on those wide fenders and the massive chrome front bumper reminds us why we love the 300 SL so much. Good job.

Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang was redesigned earlier this year and received a fresh new face that some of our readers described as “awkward.” Here we have a nice solution for those who don’t like the pony's new nose. This rendering puts a different fascia, inspired by the classic Mustang series, and we should admit it looks quite good. The only thing we'd change is to remove the hood scoop, which actually doesn't look that bad, but somehow doesn't fit the aggressive lines of the modern Mustang.
