To display the beautiful design of the new LC Convertible to its best effect, Lexus has created the Regatta Edition, an exclusive version of the model that features a unique color combination. The use of deep blue for the bodywork and roof and white and blue for the interior evokes the ambience of a luxury marina, lined with ocean-going yachts – an image that was part of the original design inspiration for the car.
The exterior is finished in Structural Blue, a Lexus color originally developed for the LC Coupe which uses advanced paint technology to replicate the intense depth of tone found in the natural world. Using micro-particles in the pigment, it reflects light in a way that highlights the curves in the bodywork and which changes the perception of light and shade when viewed from different angles.
This tones perfectly with a Marine Blue finish for the Regatta Edition’s folding soft top, emphasizing how the designers have succeeded in retaining the LC’s distinctive coupe roofline in the context of the convertible.
Conscious of how the interior of a convertible is more often open to view, Lexus’ designers ensured there is a harmonious flow between the inside and outside of the car. This quality is perfectly captured in the Regatta Edition with its combination of dark blue and white. White is the dominant color, used for the interior facings of the front pillars, the steering wheel (including the center pad) and the headlining. The instrument panel and door panels have contrasting deep blue upper and white lower sections, while the front seats are upholstered white perforated semi-aniline leather with blue highlights on the head rests, upper shoulder area and grab handles.
The LC Convertible Regatta Edition has been produced in a very limited number and the launch time will be in autumn 2020.
