Nadim Mehanna and his MotorShow team took the latest Nissan Patrol for a comprehensive drive in the UAE.

The latest Nissan Patrol presents an updated design that enhances its strong road presence, blending elements of the model’s heritage with a more modern direction. Its exterior styling refines the Patrol’s recognizable silhouette to emphasize a robust, capable look.

Design details include Nissan’s wider, more integrated V-motion grille and updated Double C-shaped headlights with Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) technology for improved visibility. At the rear, a full-width light bar mirrors the front design. The Patrol’s stance is further supported by available 22-inch alloy wheels, contributing to both its appearance and ground clearance for off-road use. Seven exterior colors are offered, along with four new two-tone options that allow for added personalization.

A new Puddle Lamp activates as occupants approach with the key fob, projecting the Patrol silhouette and “Since 1951” as a subtle reference to the model’s history and Nissan’s focus on user-friendly details.
The seventh-generation Nissan Patrol is the most powerful version to date, offering improved performance and efficiency.

A new 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine produces 425HP and 700Nm of torque—representing increases in both power and torque compared to the outgoing V8, along with better fuel efficiency. The V6 features high heat-resistant turbochargers and a scavenge oil pump for consistent lubrication on slopes and uneven terrain. A 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 remains available, producing 316HP and 386Nm of torque. A 9-speed automatic transmission supports smooth delivery across city roads and off-road environments.

Dynamic suspension with e-damper technology adjusts automatically to driving conditions for improved comfort and control. An available adaptive air suspension system allows passengers to adjust ride height, enhancing on-road comfort, off-road capability, and ease of entry and loading. Drivers can select from six drive modes—standard, sand, rock, mud/rut, eco, and sport. A new 4WD transfer mode interlock system, a first for Nissan, enables smoother transitions between modes.

Inside, the latest Nissan Patrol combines comfort with updated technology. The interior features quilted leather seats with detailing inspired by traditional Japanese Kumiko craftsmanship. Select trims offer massage functions and eight-way adjustment for improved comfort. A panoramic sunroof adds openness to the cabin. A new infotainment setup features a 28.6-inch horizontal Monolith display composed of twin 14.3-inch screens for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle information. Rear passengers can access optional dual 12.8-inch screens via Miracast, HDMI, or USB.

A 64-color ambient lighting system allows users to customize the cabin environment. Select trims include a 12-speaker Klipsch Premium Audio system, developed with Nissan and Klipsch engineers, featuring DynamicAudioReveal™ and DJX® 3D Surround for consistent audio clarity. Available Biometric Cooling uses infrared sensors to detect occupant body temperature in the front passenger and second row, adjusting airflow automatically.

The cabin offers improved space, particularly in the second and third rows, appealing to families and larger groups. EZ Flex seats make third-row access easier without removing a child seat, and the third-row power fold/return function allows flexible cargo configurations via the Monolith screen. Cargo capacity has increased by up to 30% over previous models, and glove and console areas provide a combined 9 liters of additional storage. Noise reduction is supported by an updated frame with better torsional rigidity, acoustic glass, and upgraded materials.

The latest Nissan Patrol introduces Nissan Connect 2.0 with Google Built-In, integrating navigation, entertainment, and security features. Already available in the UAE and KSA, it will expand to other GCC markets. Nissan’s ProPILOT technology appears on the Patrol for the first time, combining adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assistance. Panorama View provides “Ultra-Wide View” and “Invisible Hood View,” with real-time projections of surrounding obstacles and guidance on the infotainment display. Ultra-Wide View expands visibility to 170 degrees, while Invisible Hood shows the area directly beneath the vehicle for improved confidence in tight or off-road spaces.

A 3D Around View Monitor adds a full 360-degree perspective, while an Intelligent Rear View Mirror and Rear Zoom View improve visibility behind the vehicle. Safety systems include Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking. The Patrol also includes seven airbags, with knee airbags added for the first time.
The latest Nissan Patrol brings together stronger performance, updated technology, and enhanced comfort, reflecting Nissan’s ongoing efforts to refine the model for varied on-road and off-road needs.
