With the new BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION CABRIO, the German luxury brand expands its ROCKET portfolio with an exclusive open-top Masterpiece based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63, making its world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show. Production is limited to 50 units worldwide.
The open-top four-door body with its electrically operated soft top was engineered by the BRABUS development team using state-of-the-art CAD and simulation technology. More than 500 newly developed components, manufactured to OEM-quality standards, form the basis of the sophisticated two-piece roof system, while extensive structural engineering ensures a level of rigidity equal to that of the fixed-roof vehicle.
Beyond its special two-tone paint finish combining matte and high-gloss black, the BRABUS ROCKET EDITION widebody design gives the supercar its unmistakable appearance with striking exposed-carbon elements. Tailor-made for the widened fenders, 24-inch BRABUS “PLATINUM EDITION” forged wheels feature an evolved interpretation of the legendary Monoblock II three-spoke design, complemented by exposed-carbon aeroblades. High-performance road tires measuring up to 345/25 ZR 24 on the rear axle complete the setup.
True to the ROCKET philosophy, the new Masterpiece supercar is powered by the BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 engine. With its displacement increased to 4.5 liters and a sophisticated high-performance BRABUS turbocharging system, it produces 662 kW / 900 hp and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) of torque. The BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION CABRIO accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 240 km/h (149 mph).
The BRABUS Masterpiece interior offers exclusivity in its purest form. The cabin is finished in the company’s in-house upholstery shop using the finest black leather and Alcantara, featuring precise quilting and striking red accents.

For decades, the BRABUS ROCKET models have embodied the brand’s most performance-focused supercars, combining exceptional power and uncompromising dynamics with an unmistakably aggressive design language. The new BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION CABRIO continues this legacy as the first open-top ROCKET in company history and celebrates its world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026.
In 2025, BRABUS introduced its exclusive cabriolet concept for the current W 465-series Mercedes-AMG G 63, combining the iconic proportions of the G-Class with an all-new, coachbuilt open-top body concept. Throughout the development process, the BRABUS engineers, technicians and designers relied on state-of-the-art CAD and simulation software to achieve maximum structural rigidity on par with the fixed-roof model. The vehicle successfully completed the extensive testing and approval procedures conducted by Germany’s TÜV technical inspection authority.
To retain the off-roader’s characteristic silhouette, BRABUS developed a sophisticated two-piece soft-top construction comprising more than 500 components manufactured to OEM-quality standards. The soft top, which features a heated safety-glass rear window, opens or closes in just 20 seconds. An inverted “77” logo is woven into the high-quality fabric above the rear window as a reference to the company’s founding year. Two contrasting dark signature stripes and BRABUS lettering are integrated into the upper surface of the roof.
When closed, the soft top locks into the reinforced windshield frame at the front. A broad carbon-fiber roof bow integrated into the front section of the folding roof maintains its shape even at high speeds and makes a significant contribution to reducing interior noise. On either side of the vehicle, the front section of the soft top is additionally stabilized by the roof frame above the doors. Behind the rear doors, the “C-BOW” steel roll bar is integrated into the modified body and clad externally with exposed-carbon elements. It secures the rear section of the roof, which folds away behind the rear seats when opened. A tailor-made tonneau cover protects the folded soft top from dirt and debris.
Alongside rapid and seamless roof operation, the BRABUS development team placed particular emphasis on acoustic insulation, long-term reliability and flawless weather sealing. Every detail of the soft-top system was engineered to provide a high level of comfort and protection in everyday use, whether open or closed. Following completion, every BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION CABRIO undergoes more than ten hours of continuous water testing in a climate chamber to verify the integrity of the entire roof and sealing system. Each vehicle is delivered only after successfully passing this extensive testing procedure.
The new BRABUS supercar captivates not only with its elaborate transformation into a cabriolet. The BRABUS ROCKET EDITION widebody design adds an emphatically sporty character with select elements made from high-gloss-sealed exposed carbon. The front of the open-top supercar makes a bold visual statement with the BRABUS front fascia, its large air intakes and integrated front spoiler. Equally distinctive is the illuminated exposed-carbon radiator grille surround, which dramatically showcases the two red signature stripes and the illuminated BRABUS front emblem. Together, these elements give the BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION CABRIO an unmistakable presence even after dark.
The BRABUS Powerdome on the hood hints at the engine that makes this supercar one of the world’s most powerful off-road cabriolets. As the name of this exclusive Masterpiece supercar suggests, the SUV is powered by a BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine. It produces 231 kW / 315 hp more than the standard G 63 powerplant.
During construction at the company’s in-house high-tech engine facility, the displacement of the twin-turbocharged V8 four-valve engine is increased from the standard 3,982 cm³ to 4,407 cm³. To achieve this, the cylinder bores are enlarged to a diameter of 84 millimeters (3.3 in) and fitted with matching forged pistons. In combination with high-performance connecting rods, a special billet crankshaft, precision-machined from solid material and finely balanced, increases the stroke to 100 millimeters (3.9 in). Equally crucial to the substantial increase in output is the modified turbocharging system beneath the red BRABUS exposed-carbon engine cover. Two special turbochargers with larger compressor units and reinforced axial bearings generate a maximum boost pressure of 1.4 bar. Two BRABUS BoostXtra valves produce a distinctive blow-off sound during load changes.
The BRABUS ROCKET 900 increased-displacement engine is complemented by a precisely calibrated stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with 76-millimeter (3.0 in) downpipes, special particulate filters and metal catalytic converters. In addition to contributing to the engine’s immense power delivery, the exhaust system features actively controlled valves for selectable sound management. From the cockpit, the driver can choose between an especially powerful V8 soundtrack in Sport mode and a discreet whisper in “Coming Home” mode. On either side of the vehicle, two exhaust tips positioned ahead of the rear wheels are framed by exposed-carbon surrounds incorporating the ROCKET Launch Ambience Light.
Following extensive dynamometer testing and road trials, all high-performance components are precisely calibrated to work in perfect harmony. BRABUS engine engineers and electronics specialists developed dedicated mapping for injection, ignition and boost-pressure control. The result combines optimum performance with impeccable durability. BRABUS recommends MOTUL high-performance lubricants for the entire powertrain.
The extensive development effort results in outstanding performance figures. A peak output of 662 kW / 900 hp at just 6,200 rpm represents an exceptional figure in this vehicle category, as does the immense maximum torque of 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) at only 2,900 rpm. Inside the vehicle, torque is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft). The BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION CABRIO accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds. To protect the tires, the top speed is electronically limited to 240 km/h (149 mph).
For dynamic and safe handling on the road, the open-top BRABUS supercar is equipped with high-performance road tires. The widened BRABUS fenders create the necessary space for bespoke “PLATINUM EDITION” high-end wheels featuring an evolved interpretation of the legendary BRABUS Monoblock II three-spoke design first introduced in the late 1980s. The 10Jx24 front wheels are fitted with 295/30 ZR 24 tires. At the rear, the wheels measure an imposing twelve inches in width and are fitted with 345/25 ZR 24 tires. Exposed-carbon aeroblades add a further technical dimension to the wheel design. Beyond their distinctive appearance, they help manage airflow around the rotating wheels and reduce turbulence in this aerodynamically sensitive area.
