The base Audi A1 is not something to crave in the US, though it’s a good car and all. Unlike the A1 Quattro all the units were quickly sold out. Why exactly? Here goes the reasons why:
The A1 Quattro is not only powered by 2.0-liter turbo four taken from
the Audi TTS, it also has a six-speed manual, some mighty big brakes, and, of course, all-wheel-drive.
With a total of 256 horsepower on tap, the A1 Quattro leaps from 0-62 mph in just 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 152 mph. It’s also quite fuel efficient with a 27.67 US mpg. And there’s absolutely no way anyone could mistake this for a regular A1.
Audi added a muscular front bumper, rear wing, unique grille, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The only exterior color available: Glacier White metallic with a glossy black roof. The interior is also pure Audi in both styling and quality. Plus there’s even a flat-bottom steering wheel.
Consider the A1 Quattro the best competition the Mini Cooper JCW ever had. Too bad very few got to experience it.
