Swedish electric car brand Polestar has officially revealed the Polestar 5, a four-door performance Grand Tourer. It’s based on the Precept concept from 2020, turning the brand’s design, technology, and sustainability ideas into a real car.
The car keeps the bold look of the Precept concept, with a 5-meter long body, clean lines, and an aerodynamic shape inspired by aviation. It features Polestar’s dual blade headlights with Pixel LED, low nose design, flush glass, and retractable door handles.
The interior is focused on comfort for both driver and passengers. The front Recaro seats are low and supportive, while the rear seats can recline individually. A fifth seat can be added by raising the central armrest. The car uses natural and recycled materials throughout, including bio-based fabrics and recycled plastics.
Technology and infotainment include a 14.5-inch center display running Polestar’s Android Automotive OS with Google built-in, a 9-inch driver display, and a 9.5-inch head-up display. Audio options range from a 10-speaker Polestar system to a 21-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system.
Safety features include ADAS systems, 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, radar, and eight airbags. The car also has driver monitoring and smart seat sensors.
The Polestar 5 platform is a lightweight aluminium structure using recycled materials. It houses a 112kWh battery and offers excellent performance and safety.
