The BMW 3 Series has long embodied the brand’s commitment to progress, design, and driving pleasure. The new all-electric BMW i3 continues this legacy as the second model of the Neue Klasse, combining hallmark 3 Series sportiness with cutting-edge electric technology. It offers a remarkable range of up to 900 km (WLTP) on a single charge, alongside precise and effortless handling powered by the innovative Heart of Joy “superbrain” system.

The BMW i3 50 xDrive features dual electric motors on the front and rear axles, delivering 469 hp and 645 Nm of torque. Its sixth-generation eDrive technology, 800-volt system, and high-voltage cylindrical battery cells allow ultra-fast charging—up to 400 km in just 10 minutes at a compatible DC station—while reducing energy losses, weight, and costs.

Externally, the BMW i3 reinterprets the classic 3 Series design with a modern 2.5-box silhouette, short overhangs, pronounced wheel arches, and distinctive L-shaped rear lights. Eleven exterior colours, including the exclusive M Le Castellet Blue, and retractable flush door handles highlight both elegance and aerodynamic efficiency.

Inside, the cabin emphasizes driver orientation, spaciousness, and digital innovation. The BMW Panoramic iDrive integrates the Panoramic Vision display, 3D Head-Up Display, multifunction steering wheel, and touch-enabled Central Display for intuitive operation. Sustainable materials such as Econeer seat covers made from recycled polyester reinforce BMW’s eco-conscious design.

The BMW i3 incorporates advanced driver and parking assistance systems, including Soft-Stop and BMW Symbiotic Drive, ensuring safety, comfort, and seamless interaction between human and AI. Optional adaptive suspension, M Sport seats, and multiple My Modes provide a customizable driving experience tailored to individual preferences.

Sustainability is central to the BMW i3’s design and production. From recycled materials in batteries and body components to energy-efficient manufacturing and lifecycle decarbonization, the i3 achieves a comparable carbon footprint to conventional vehicles within 1–2 years of use. Production will begin at Plant Munich in August 2026, with first UK deliveries in autumn, marking BMW’s continued commitment to fully electric mobility.
