The 24th, 25th and 26th of June 2016 a major gathering of Lancia Stratos was held in Biella. A week-end celebrated and gave homage to one of the famous car of automobile sport, the legendary Lancia Stratos. 40 years after having won the World Rally Championship Title in 1976.
This is the story of excellence, of the ones that made the Lancia Stratos, a story initiated from Biella in the 70s and which through the victories, the drivers, the collectors and the enthusiasts is re-born today
The legendary Lancia Stratos HF was without a doubt the most spectacular and successful rallye car of the 70s.
Lancia presented the Bertone-designed Lancia Stratos HF prototype at the 1971 Turin Motor Show, a year after the announcement of the Stratos Zero concept car. A production of 500 cars was started in 1973 with Dino V6 engine from Ferrari and the Stratos got the homologation to participate to the World Rally Championship season in 1974. Lancia Stratos won three times in a raw the World Rally Championship in 1974, 1975 and 1976. A golden era for this legendary car.
It started in fact a new era in rallying as it was the first car designed from scratch for this kind of competition. With its thrilling lines and uncompromising design for rallye use, the Stratos won a permanent place in the hearts of its worldwide fans with its outstanding performance.
