Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled Concept THREE, its first compact electric vehicle (EV) concept under the IONIQ sub-brand, at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich.

The debut represents Hyundai Motor’s commitment to offering EVs in a global market where the focus shifts from technology to user experience.

At IAA Mobility 2025, Hyundai Motor will also showcase its full EV lineup and outline its European electrification strategy.

 

Global Unveiling of the Concept THREE
At the center of Hyundai Motor’s participation at IAA Mobility 2025 is the debut of Concept THREE, a compact EV concept that marks the next step in the company’s electrification plans.

As the first compact EV concept under the IONIQ sub-brand, Concept THREE signals Hyundai Motor’s expansion into a new vehicle category, alongside its existing midsize and large EV models.

With Europe seeing rising demand for compact EVs — driven by urbanization, regulations, and the need for space-efficient solutions — the Concept THREE reflects Hyundai Motor’s plan to meet this demand through its electrification capabilities.

Concept THREE’s design also highlights the brand’s focus on delivering an accessible and practical package.

Art of Steel: A design language inspired by Hyundai Motor’s steel technologies, expressed in flowing volumes and precise lines.

Aero Hatch: A profile combining aerodynamic efficiency, a distinctive roofline, and a vertical tailgate.

Parametric Pixel: Pixel lighting on the front and rear, creating a gradient effect.

Material-driven design: An anodized-effect finish with lemon-tinted glass and matching wheels. Interior features soft yellow and grey tones.

Furnished Space: A cabin with soft volumes and user-focused layouts.

Customizable Experience: Modular widgets offering tailored in-car functions.

Mr. Pix: A character integrated throughout the car, offering interactive elements.

Sustainability: Use of ocean waste textiles and lightweight aluminum foam.

 

Europe: A Strategic Market
Europe is central to Hyundai Motor’s electrification goals, with nearly 80% of Hyundai vehicles sold there manufactured locally.
